Before and beyond Star Trek, Gene Roddenberry was a pilot, police officer, television freelancer, and producer looking for his next series.
This Trek World documentary follows that other career: Have Gun—Will Travel, The Lieutenant, the unsold Police Story, Pretty Maids All in a Row, Genesis II, Planet Earth, The Questor Tapes, and Spectre. Contemporary trade coverage, development documents, and participant interviews reveal the practical choices behind those projects—and the collaborators too often hidden behind one famous name.
We also distinguish Roddenberry's surviving ideas from the posthumous work that brought Earth: Final Conflict and Andromeda to television. This is neither a catalogue of failures nor a polished legend, but the story of a writer who kept trying another beginning.
